Old Constitution Firehouse photo - picture in Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi The Old Constitution Firehouse - probably the oldest and most intact Victorian era firehouses in the state - located in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The Old Constitution Fire House was built in 1870 as the 2nd house for the city's first volunteer firemen company and later housed the first paid company. The building retains the central stall, barracks dorm, cupola, and bell which was used to call the volunteers. The presence of the fire station made the Openwood — Main Street area one of the most desired residential districts in Vicksburg prior to 1876. Old Constitution Firehouse is now the home of the Vicksburg Art Association. |
